The Great Barrier Thingy fits the easily identifiable buckets for washing and rinsing to dramatically reduce the chance of any grit and grime from scratching your car. All Aussie designed and made, we've invested in local businesses to get this project done, keeping money in the local industry.
- Helps stop swirls – Barrier allows dirt and grit to settle on the bottom of the bucket, safely separated from your washing tools.
- New Rotary design – Tested and developed to create a better flow around the base fins, helping prevent grit and dirt particles rising back up into your washing tools.
- Super tall base fins – To increase the distance between the bucket base and your wash tool.
- Loves to go down – Made with a heavier, tough plastic so it won’t ever float while your washing.
- Has the "wanky" B middle, so even the fattest fingers can pull it out of the buckets.
- Is 26.5cm wide and has a nice depth of 8cm.

The Perfect fit!
By: Sam B on 26 April 2022Grit guards should always be used when washing your car, but what sets Bowden's Own grit guards and buckets apart from the rest? Easy, the perfect fit! These fit snug in the bucket with no lift up during the wash and rinse, keeping all the dirt at the bottom. Also when cleaning the buckets, the guards stay in place when tossing the dirty contents or blasting clean with the hose. They also interlock for easy storage. They are a strong quality, with the B in the middle for a two finger hold to easily remove or place them in the bucket. The pairing buckets are a must have for the perfect grit guard fit, also who doesn't love a labelled, matching, great size and quality wash/rinse bucket!

By: Brendon on 27 February 2018This latest edition to the Bowndens Own range is a cool little accessory to add to your buckets as part of the safe wash system they have developed and is all Australian made. It fits the Bowdens 15L buckets perfectly and traps the grit at the base of the bucket. I noticed last wash using the love glove I got some black marks on the glove and a gentle rub across the great barrier thingy removed this. I love the design of them too. So I'm glad I now have 2 to use in my wash and rinse buckets. Well worth the investment as they are a high quality local made product.
